Dynasty QB's To Buy, Sell, Hold For The 2021 Season.

With the Super Bowl behind us, NFL teams and dynasty owners are shifting their focus to the upcoming season. The first part is NFL free agency, which starts in a couple of days, on March 17th. As dynasty leagues transition to their new league years I'm going to talk about a player that I would consider buying, holding, and selling.

2020 Stats: 186 completions, 290 attempts, 1814 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns, 5 INT's, 36 rushing attempts, 109 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns and 1 fumble lost. Finished as QB 30

2021 Projected Stats via My Fantasy League: 325 completions, 509 attempts, 3332 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, 11 INT's, 63 rushing attempts, 232 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns, 1 fumble lost. Projected QB 23

Buy Tua Tagovailoa In Dynasty (IDP Guys ADP 335, QB Ranking 14)

In his rookie season he spent the first half of it learning from journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. In the second part of last season he started, but it wasn't without ups and downs. With Fitzpatrick no longer on the team it's Tua'a team now and he has the support of Dolphins GM Chris Grier and head coach Brian Flores.

If you're a dynasty owner and are looking for a quarterback why not send out an offer for Tua? I realize not everyone is a believer in him. However, given that he was the second quarterback drafted in most dynasty drafts, last season his value is at an all time low. The Dolphins are committed to getting Tua some help.

Dolphins showing interest in WR Kenny Golladay and or could draft a rookie wide receiver in the first round.

Tua could make for a solid QB2 in superflex leagues or a low end QB1 in one quarterback leagues. For reference, he is projected to finish between Cam Newton and Mitchell Trubisky. Now is the perfect time to try and acquire Tua in dynasty leagues before free agency hits. If the Dolphins add one or both of the players I mentioned earlier Tua'a value will go up.

    2020 Stats: 242 completions, 376 attempts, 2757 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, 9 INT's, 159 rushing attempts, 1005 rushing yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 4 fumbles lost. Finished as QB 11

2021 Projected Stats via My Fantasy League: 245 completions, 379 attempts, 2768 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, 12 INT's, 194 rushing attempts, 1125 rushing yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 4 fumbles lost. Projected QB 7

Hold Lamar Jackson In Dynasty (IDP Guys ADP 41.67, QB Ranking 2)

In dynasty leagues last season, Jackson was being drafted as the number 1 or number 2 quarterback behind Mahomes. We all know Jackson excels as a running quarterback, but struggles with is his accuracy as a passer. There have been lots of rumors suggesting the Ravens adding a #1 wide receiver for Jackson. While I think they really need to, until they do Jackson will struggle solidifying his spot as a top ten quarterback. I will be watching what the Ravens do in free agency.

My suggestion is that you wait to see how Jackson does to start the season and then trade him if he does well. Much like Tua you're either a fan of Jackson or not. If I own Jackson I'm holding for now unless you get a offer you can't pass up.

    2020 Stats: 280 completions, 448 attempts, 2943 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, 10 INT's, 65 rushing attempts, 423 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 6 fumbles lost. Finished as QB 24

2021 Projected Stats via My Fantasy League: 314 completions, 505 attempts, 3346 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, 13 INT's, 66 rushing attempts, 388 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 8 fumbles lost. Projected QB 27

Sell Daniel Jones In Dynasty (IDP Guys ADP 258, QB Ranking 29)

Here are the two main reasons why I'm selling Daniel Jones. The first is the return of star running back Saquon Barkley (ACL). Assuming he is healthy the Giants should go back to making him the focal point on offense. In 2019, Barkley was RB 10 and that's even with missing three games. If they do that it will limit the amount of passes Jones will need to be throwing each week. The second is that the Giants rank near the bottom in salary cap space so it will make it hard for them to improve the offensive weapons for Jones. If I owned Jones I would use the return of Barkley and that Jones is a duel threat quarterback to see if I can work out a trade.

I would start sending out trades for or involving these quarterbacks and see how it goes. With NFL free agency starting in a couple of days the sooner you can buy or sell these players in dynasty the better.
