Edges are the lifeblood of a dynasty IDP roster. Now that rookies have landing spots and draft capital, who are the top edges? Let's dive into 2024 Edge IDP Dynasty Tiers.

The NFL Draft is officially in the rearview mirror, and we're on to rookie draft season! So what better time to circle back and update the 2024 Edge IDP Dynasty Tiers to include the new rookies and evaluate some offseason moves? We'll start with the elites and work through several tiers.

    Elite Edge 1s

    3Micah ParsonsDallas Cowboys
    4Myles GarrettCleveland Browns
    5Aidan HutchinsonDetroit Lions

The cream of the crop here, these guys are worth the price of admission and are going to be nearly untouchable in most dynasty leagues. When you get this kind of scorer at edge, it allows you to put a crooked number up at that spot weekly. Debate the order all you want but this group should be the first five IDPs taken in the majority of IDP dynasty leagues.

Nick Bosa is the top guy, but especially among the top three guys it feels like splitting hairs. I could easily make an argument for any of those guys. Myles Garrett is my fourth guy and is still elite despite being the oldest of the five. Finally, Aidan Hutchinson made the leap last year to tier one and is going to be a menace for years to come and could be at the top of 2024 Edge IDP Dynasty Tiers soon.

    9Brian BurnsNew York Giants
    10Haason ReddickNew York Jets
    11Laiatu LatuIndianapolis Colts

The fun starts in this tier, as these are solid edges, but the flavor you pick will vary based on your team. Will Anderson is most likely to push up a tier and emerge as a true superstar in 2024. If you can go get him before then, you best go do it before the season starts. The second guy is Josh Allen who emerged as a stud in 2023 and now is locked in Jacksonville going forward.

T.J. Watt and Haason Reddick are both older and therefore make the most sense for a competitor to have rostered. They are most likely to lose value in 2024. Brian Burns will have a great year in New York now with the other players around him. Finally, the first rookie hops in at 11 in Laiatu Latu, who has some of the best pass rush metrics we've seen since a couple of guys named Bosa.

    15George KarlaftisKansas City Chiefs
    16Montez SweatChicago Bears
    17Alex HighsmithPittsburgh Steelers
    18Trey HendricksonCincinnati Bengals

This tier is all about the upside, which tends to be my target for my dynasty edge 2. If I'm not confident in their starting value, you can find later (older) guys to provide more current-year value but these guys have the potential to be edge 1s soon. Starting with last year's top sleeper for me, Jaelan Phillips, who hopefully can come back from the Achilles.

Jared Verse is the second rookie and a future stud. He is close to Latu just without the refined pass rush. This next group is young solid guys in Jermaine Johnson, George Karlaftis, and Alex Highsmith. All have years ahead and are safe second guys with upside. Finally, Montez Sweat and Trey Hendrickson are a little older but feel safe for a couple more years minimum.

    Solid Edge 2s

    24Dallas TurnerMinnesota Vikings
    25Kayvon ThibodeauxNew York Giants
    26Boye MafeSeattle Seahawks
    27Bryce HuffPhiladelphia Eagles

This tier is filled with players all over the map in terms of what you might want. Harold Landry, Danielle Hunter, and Joey Bosa are the guys I want if competing from this group of the 2024 Edge IDP Dynasty Tiers. All are solid and productive veterans. Rashan Gary, Carl Granderson, and Bryce Huff are similarly solid vets with more volatility to grow but a lower production floor.

The final three in the tier are all interesting names to discuss here. Dallas Turner is a freak athlete but wasn't the most productive getting to the QB and gives me the vibes of the next guy. Kayvon Thibodeaux is a huge sell for me, as he was at just a 6.4% win rate and just 10.1% in true pass sets, well below similarly productive edges. Finally, Boye Mafe was similarly overproductive relative to his metrics.

    38Nolan SmithPhiladelphia Eagles
    39Dorance ArmstrongWashington Commanders
    40Chris BraswellTampa Bay Buccaneers

The final group in the 2024 Edge IDP Dynasty Tiers is the guys I want as threes or fours. How to build this, for me, is based on the higher tiers. Let's say I have Will Anderson and Dallas Turner, someone like Khalil Mack, a productive veteran, is more appealing than Chop Robinson. So keep the overall build and starting requirements in mind with how to best use these tiers.

Chop Robinson and Chris Braswell are the two rookies in here and for different reasons. Robinson I love but the Miami edge rotation is deep, so you might need patience. Braswell, on the other hand, is my pick for the Byron Young of this class. Tampa Bay should play him a ton, and with a solid front seven around him, he has decent upside this year to be very solid.
