• Arizona Cardinals 2022 Fantasy Football + IDP Depth Chart Dive

Kyler Murray got PAID. Will he live up to expectations? After a disappointing close to an overall successful 2021 season, let’s take a look at the best fantasy football and IDP options from the Cardinals’ roster.

    Offense

    Quarterback

    Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray has as much upside as any QB in the NFL, QB1 overall is within his range of outcomes and we have seen it in spurts. With Marquise Brown now in the loop, this is the most talented pass catcher room he has ever had surrounding him, come week 7 it’s wheels up!  Murray is a top 4 ranked QB for me in ALL formats with his beautiful blend of elite rushing ability and strong passing talent. @DynastyBison 8/17/22

    Colt McCoy
    Trace McSorley

    Running Back

    James Conner

I am likely not drafting any James Conner this year at cost. Conner was extremely efficient on touchdowns in 2021 likely regressing. Paired with that games Edmonds was healthy Conner only averaged ~2 targets a game and thefront office bringing in both Darrel Williams and Keontay Ingram on top of having Eno Benjamin on hand who all have the skill set to fill that pass-catching 3rd down role. This leaves Conner as more of a mid-RB2 for 2022 and I will let someone else grab him and take the surrounding talent. @DynastyBison 8/18/22

    Darrel Williams
    Eno Benjamin
    Jonathan Ward
    Keaontay Ingram

    Wide Receiver

    DeAndre Hopkins

I do not think Hopkins is done but I do think his days of 25+% target shares are and thus he is a big mid-year sell for me in dynasty. I think there will still be some really good games and he will settle into a solid role with about the same targets/game as Marquise Brown. At age 30, production on the downtrend, it’s time to get off the ship if you haven’t already once a monster week comes about after the suspension. @DynastyBison 8/18/22

    A.J. Green
    Marquise Brown

Dream come true scenario for Marquise Brown ending up in Arizona with his college QB Kyler Murray. Though his target share is likely to drop from the 27% he drew in Baltimore this should be more than offset by the pass-heavy scheme Arizona runs. Add to that Kyler being one of the best deep ball throwers in the league, having a prior connection together, and defenses needing to respect Hopkins still on the other side as well and we have ourselves a monster season waiting to happen. @DynastyBison 8/18/22

    Rondale Moore

I was a huge fan of Rondale Moore in college and loved his landing spot in the NFL Draft. He had some ups but had an underwhelming rookie campaign. With the departure of Christian Kirk, Moore should move into the slot role right away. I could see him being used not only further down the field but in certain situations that Chase Edmonds was utilized before. Moore is a huge value for where his ADP is and is in for a big 2nd season.

    Andy Isabella
    Antoine Wesley

    Tight End

    Zach Ertz

Zach Ertz is one of my favorite mid-late single-digit round targets in 2022 redraft. Have been seeing him available in the 7-9 round range fairly often and that’s a killer price if you skip on an elite option early. Very few tight ends in the game have as clear a path to 100+ targets as Ertz does in this pass-heavy scheme and Hopkins facing a 6-game suspension. @DynastyBison 8/18/22

    Trey McBride

McBride is my TE1 of this rookie class and landed in an excellent long-term situation however likely limited role in the short term behind Ertz. In TEP leagues I am interested in him as a last-round flier if I have an elite option as my TE1 but that’s about it there. When Ertz retires and McBride has that safety net role to himself in the short-intermediate range paired with his playmaking and athleticism it will be a sight to see! @DynastyBison 8/18/22

    Stephen Anderson
    Maxx Williams

    Defense

    Defensive Tackle

    Leki Fotu
    Antwaun Woods
    Christian Ringo
    Rashard Lawrence

    Defensive End/EDGE

    J.J. Watt
    Zach Allen
    Cam Thomas
    Myjai Sanders
    Markus Golden
    Devon Kennard
    Dennis Gardeck

    Linebacker

    Isaiah Simmons
    Zaven Collins
    Nick Vigil
    Joe Walker
    Ben Niemann

    Cornerback

    Byron Murphy
    Antonio Hamilton
    Josh Jackson
    Breon Borders

    Safety

    Budda Baker
    Jalen Thompson
    Deionte Thompson
    Marco Wilson

    Steve Tomasin (@DynastySanta)

After being introduced to fantasy football in 1999 as a wee lad still in middle school, I was hooked. I then began commishing my own keeper league 2 years later as a sophomore in high school, which has been running since. I used a computer program that required me to manually input weekly stats and had to print out summary packets each week to deliver to league owners at the bowling alley. I loved it. Stats and numbers and the competitiveness of being "right" about players was just an incredible high that not many other activities or hobbies have ever provided me. Around 2005 we migrated to the CBS sports site. I found a new love then, writing about our league. Each year after the draft I would "grade" each owner's team. It became almost as anticipated as the draft itself. Also, most weeks I'd recap the league's games and criticize start/sits while boasting my own accolades as long as I won that week. Dynasty, IDP & Superflex are the next evolutions in my fantasy football journey. I'm a Philly suburbs guy, GO BIRDS. Follow me on Twitter @dynastysanta
