Boston College blew out Colgate in a 51-0 win, as stars Phil Jurkovec (QB), Zay Flowers (WR), and Shitta Sillah (DE) flex their muscles.

Boston College opened the game as a huge favorite (-42.5) over Colgate and had no problem covering the spread. The Eagles started both halves of the game a little slow, but when they got on the same page, they exploded. They produced 20+ scoring outbursts in the second and fourth quarters, to win 51-0. It was the perfect opportunity for some of BC's biggest stars to shine, and shine brightly they did.

Leading just 7-0 after the first quarter, NFL prospects Phil Jurkovec (QB) and Zay Flowers (WR) ignited the offense as the Eagles easily began to pull away for a 27 point lead at the half. The defense was dialed in from the very start and never let up as they held Colgate scoreless for the shut-out win. Letโ€™s take a closer look at the standouts of the game.

    Offensive Stars

Offensively, it all started with junior Jurkovec. He got off to a good start with two passes to Flowers for 50 yards, which led to a touchdown by the run game. The next drive saw a couple of drops and a miss fire that killed the drive. In the second quarter, Jurkovec wasted no time getting the Eagles on the scoreboard, as he hit TE Trae Barry for a 51-yard touchdown pass.

Despite some early miscues, Jurkovec had an efficient and productive first half. With a blowout win well in hand, he played into the third quarter. Jurkovec finished the day with 303 yards on 16 of 24 attempts and 3 touchdowns. He also added 61 rushing yards on five carries.

Jurokvecโ€™s favorite target is Flowers. If you havenโ€™t seen this dude play, youโ€™re missing out! I donโ€™t like doing comparisons, but there are some Tyreek Hill glimpses in his game. Flowers started the game with two catches for 50 yards on the first drive. In the second quarter, he made a leaping catch, showing off his vertical explosion on a 39-yard touchdown.

Flowers had a big first half, finishing the game with seven catches for 133 yards and one touchdown. Just like with Jurkovec, NFL scouts have Flowers high on their draft boards. I have to credit my friend Sean Dujay (@dujay14) for bringing Flowers to my attention.

    Defensive Studs

Defensively, the standout stud for the Eagles was DE Shitta Sillah, who wreaked havoc all game long on Colgate's offense. Sillah got an early start with three tackles in the first quarter, but the second quarter is where he shined. He recorded three more tackles and a sack while affecting a number of other plays.

For the game, Sillah recorded seven tackles, all solos, and one sack. At 6โ€™4โ€/253 lbs he has the prototypical size for the NFL and the on-field production makes him a player youโ€™ll want to add to your pre-draft watch lists.
