Some say the Seattle Seahawks are going total rebuild, and others say they are just reloading. Who are the Buy/Sell IDP players from the 28th ranked defense in 2021?

The Seattle Seahawks defense lost its leader over the past 10 years in linebacker, Bobby Wagner. Wagner accounted for at least 104 tackles in each year of his career. Last year was his best total tackle year yet with 170 tackles (93 solos). Who will help replace those vacated tackles/snaps of Wagner?

Then, when looking at the total Seahawks defensive vacated snaps according to the complete NFL defense vacated snaps report by Kyle Bellefeuil (in the IDPGuys Draft Kit), the Seahawks have 4,700 vacated defensive snaps.

You need to look no further than LB, Jordyn Brooks. The former 2020 first-round pick will be entering his third year in the league. At just 24 years old, he has only just begun. Brooks got to learn from one of the best to ever play the game over his two years with the Seahawks.

After getting six starts as a rookie and posting stats of 57 tackles (35 solos), 2 tackles for a loss, and 2 passes defended, Brooks broke out big in 2021.

In just his second year, Brooks led the NFL in tackles.

Brooks played all 17 games in 2021 and recorded an incredible 184 tackles (109 solos), 10 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 5 passes defended, and 1 fumble recovery. In 2022, Brooks will be moving to the vacated Mike (middle) linebacker position and have a green dot on the back of his helmet.

The green dot has two significant realities in it. Reality number one is he is the captain that is calling all the defensive plays. Since Brooks is calling all of the defensive plays, reality number two is he plays all defensive snaps.

More snaps mean more opportunity. The increased opportunity means more tackles. More tackles mean more fantasy football IDP points. Increased fantasy football IDP points mean more championships.

Make yourself happy and do whatever it takes to acquire Brooks right now. He will only get more expensive as the days go by. He will be expensive, but not as expensive as you might think. Buy, buy, buy.

Jamal Adams was a first-round pick by the New York Jets in 2017. The 6’1″ and 213 lb safety will be entering his sixth year in the league and third year with the Seahawks. He signed a monster four-year contract that should keep Adams in Seattle through 2025. He is one of the best safeties in the league and his seven tackles game support that statement.

Adams is considered an enforcer and leader on the field. He is a top 10 tackler per game out of all the safeties. Overall safety scoring in my league, he ranked #32.

Adams has not played a full season since 2018. He has missed 11 games in the last 3 years. The best ability for any rostered fantasy football player is availability.

Adams’ Best Year — 2018 with the New York Jets.

In 2018, Adam’s second year in the league, he delivered eye-popping numbers for a safety. He had 115 tackles (86 solo), 9 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, 12 passes defended, 1 interception, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. Adams was then placed at the top of everyone’s IDP rankings for safety.

His third year with the Jets had him decrease his total tackle numbers by 34.78%, from 115 to 75. The Jets then traded him to the Seahawks for two 1st round picks and a 3rd round pick.

While Adam’s tackle numbers are still significant, his season numbers are on par with his rookie season and not even close to his 2018 season. Last year, in 12 games, he produced 87 tackles (56 solos), 4 tackles for a loss, 5 passes defended, and 2 interceptions.

His name still holds significant value in IDP fantasy football circles. I believe you would be best served in selling this player sooner rather than later. Take advantage of the name and get a rookie pick to select Kyle Hamilton and a solid veteran like Jordan Fuller or Justin Simmons.
