• Darrynton Evans Goes Down With Leg Injury

Darrynton Evans has been a high-profile, backup running back since he was drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. He carries very solid draft capital for a running back, being selected 93rd overall in the 3rd round. The big deal about the Evans selection is not his stand-alone value, but his handcuff value. Derrick Henry is the obvious lead running back on this team, though if he went down with an injury, his replacement likely garners a similar role.

Evans missed most of his rookie season with a hamstring injury which limited him to five games. Evans was off to a hot start in camp and the coaches were excited for him, though he came up limp on a run during the Titans preseason opener. The original diagnosis was a leg injury as reported by PFT here:

Dr. Jesse Morse, of the @fantasyDRS, tweeted later that it seems more like a hamstring:

Either way, this is not great news for Evans and anybody who rosters him. Jeremy McNichols was next off of the bench with rookie Mekhi Sargent after him. Sargent was actually quite impressive. If Evans is forced to miss an extended period of time, McNichols could hold some decent value. We wish Evans a speedy recovery, as we here at IDPGUYS are big Darrynton Evans fans, and will have an update on his injury soon to come.
