Early Favorite To Win Offensive Rookie Of The Year, In The Upcoming NFL Season

Now that the NFL Rookie Draft is in the books, the attention shifts to which rookie will win offensive rookie of the year. Here are the early favorites to win the award via the latest odds. I'm also going to tell you who I like of the three and why.

    Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett

I understand why Pickett is the early favorite to win this award. He's going to a team that just lost its starting quarterback from a year ago, Ben Roethlisberger, to retirement. He'll be battling with newly signed, fifth year pro, Mitchell Trubisky during training camp and preseason to see who gets the nod for week 1. If Pickett wins the job, he'll have plenty of help offensively to help him be successful as a rookie.

    Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London

Here's my pick for offensive rookie of the year. London's going to a team that is starved for offensive weapons and just signed quarterback Marcus Mariota, to replace Matt Ryan (trade). The first wide receiver taken in this year's rookie draft is penciled in as a week 1 starter. The same can't be said for Kenny Pickett. I have no doubt that the Falcons will do everything they can to help London be successful in year one, given where they drafted him.

    Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks

He is my second favorite to win this award. Much like London, Burks is penciled in as a week 1 starter. While he has the better quarterback (Ryan Tannehill) throwing him the ball, the Titans also have veteran wide receiver Robert Woods, who could cut into Burks production. The biggest thing working again Burks and winning OROY is running back Derrick Henry and the run first offense the Titans use.

    Conclusion

Here's the order I would be placing bets on, right now, for the three players mentioned in this article. First is Drake London, second is Treylon Burks, and third is Kenny Pickett. The main reason for this order is that I don't think Pickett will win the starting QB job for Pittsburgh. If that happens then it would really hurt his chances to win this award.

Odds for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award has been updated post-NFL Draft. As far as what some of the US sportsbooks are saying in terms of who the favorite player is at this moment, it has got to be Kenny Pickett (+500). Odds on each site varies slightly, but the agreement is that he's the top contender right now. While the odds are fresh, those who want to get an early, risk-free bet in should look through this BetMGM code. Yes, it's early to be thinking about betting on anything NFL, but that's why these sportsbooks have all these promos going on for new users. Think of it as an insurance because with how the OROY odds have been fluctuating, Kenny Pickett may not be at the top by the time the season starts.
