Who are the must-add stocks this week for your Devy IDP Portfolios? I'm here to tell you who you should invest in!

The 2021 college football season is here! Week 2  is now in the books and now you’re looking for any possible players who are trending upward to invest in. Or, maybe you need to know which players you can move for a high return. I’m here to help you diversify your fantasy portfolios and get the maximum return on your investments.

Each week I’ll give you three-player stocks that are trending up or three that are trending down. Let stake a closer look at what stocks you should invest in.

    IDP Devy Investments

Andre Carter II, OLB, Army, Junior

My first IDP devy stock market buy comes from an unexpected team. It’s not often that we look to the nation's Armed Forces football teams for fantasy stars. You’ll want to add Army Black Knight Andre Carter II to your IDP Devy portfolios. The Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Carter II became available last season, but he didn’t see the field enough to provide stockholders with the return they expected.

A year later, the junior outside linebacker is having one heck of a start to the season and producing the dividend return that shareholders have been waiting for! Through the first two games of the season, Carter II has produced eight tackles, 4.5 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks. His sack total currently leads the nation!

Now is the time to invest in Carter II, as he’s currently rostered in only 2% of Fantrax college leagues. He’s a penny stock that has been paying back a nice dividend, which I believe will continue. Looking ahead at Army’s schedule, it sets up nicely for him. I see no real threats that could stop Carter II, outside of Wisconsin and Wake Forest back to back.

Carter II isn’t going to produce high tackle numbers, but will with the impact plays (TFLs & sacks). These plays are what you’re investing in him for. The cost to invest in Carter II will cost you mere pennies on the dollar, so go add him to your fantasy rosters while you can get him still get him at a good value.

C.J. Brewer, DT, Coastal Carolina, Senior

Next on my list is defensive tackle CJ Brewer of Coastal Carolina. Brewer decided to take advantage of the free year and is classified as a "super senior" for the Chanticleers. A draft-eligible prospect a year ago, Brewer decided to return and improve his NFL stock. If you play in position-specific leagues, he is definitely a stock you’ll want to add to your portfolios.

Brewer is an experienced player (47 career games) who has — and will — produced at a high level for your fantasy teams. In those games, he has recorded 186 tackles, 23 TFLs, 11.5 sacks, as well as a number of other impact plays. As you can see he’s a wrecking ball that will fill the box score on a weekly basis.

Brewer is a brand name stock, but he’s still only rostered in 36% of Fantrax college leagues. This is too low for a player who produces such a high return for fantasy managers. His schedule sets up nicely for him to continue to keep producing high returns for his stockholders. The Chanticleers play in the Sun Belt Conference where Brewer will dominate the inferior competition.

Brewer won’t lead in any single category, but will collectively score high point totals each week. Fantasy managers will only have one year of control of him in college leagues. His long-term value looks even better in Campus to Canton leagues, where you can move him to your NFL rosters starting next year.

    Demarvion Overshown, LB, Texas, Senior

Last of my IDP Devy stock market list of buys, is a cheat code of sorts for fantasy managers. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is listed as an LB/S/CB hybrid on Fantrax, which allows you to play him at either of those positions. That type of flexibility is valuable for your IDP fantasy teams. Overshawn started out his career as a safety and has now made the transition to linebacker.

He is a box score filler who will provide a big return on your investment in him. Through two games played this season, Overshown already has 21 tackles. That’s a 10.5 per game clip! Texas will be in a lot of high-scoring games this season, which will give him plenty of opportunities to make plays.

I don’t typically suggest investing in stocks that are rostered in over half the leagues but I feel Overshown is worth suggesting. He’s rostered in 61% of Fantrax college leagues and has seen a 24.6% increased investment rate by fantasy managers from the previous week. Your window to add him to your fantasy rosters is closing quickly.

Fantasy managers will have at least one more year of control, and possibly two, if he doesn’t leave early for the NFL. In 2020, Overshown was a Swiss Army knife for the Longhorns' defense. He produced 60 tackles, eight TFLs, two INTs, and seven PBUs. That’s the type of return or better that you can expect from him this season.

    Summary

There are my three IDP Devy Stock Market players to invest in for Week 3. Good luck this week!
