Week 16 reflection. Let’s finish the season strong and hopefully, the Week 17 IDP sleepers CRUSH!

D.J. Wonnum stud to dud. I can't nail a highlighted DL. Andrew Van Ginkel produced fine if you reward passes defended. Emmanuel Ogbah smashed with two sacks. At highlighted LBs, Anthony Hitchens was just OK and Jamin Davis was inactive with COVID. Of the deeper LBs, Josh Bynes was OK, Pete Werner provided a great tackle floor, and the Texans' LB who shined was Neville Hewitt. Garret Wallow didn't do much.

At DBs Andrew Wingard was a bust. However! Jonathan Owens came up big with multiple impact plays! Both of the Cleveland DBs, Greedy Williams & Grant Delpit were OK and provided solid tackle floors. Zero impact plays between them though. Jevon Holland was serviceable with half of a sack and 5 total tackles. It was Brandon Jones who had the monster game in the Dolphins' secondary.

Marcus Davenport, DE, New Orleans Saints

    ESPN: 6.2% ST - 9.0% RST - YAHOO: 5.0% RST

I'm going back to the well here. Marcus Davenport is still criminally under-rostered and faces the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have given up the sixth-most sacks so far this year. Davenport is back on a sack streak after whiffing somehow against the New York Jets. Cameron Jordan is finally picking steam as well, so this dynamic duo should wreak havoc this weekend.

    Other deeper league targets

Carlos Dunlap, DE, Seattle Seahawks - The old man is on a tear recently and gets the Lions this week

Lorenzo Carter, EDGE, New York Giants - Gets the Bears, who lead the league in sacks given up

    Anthony Barr, Minnesota Vikings

    ESPN: 3.5% ST - 5.1% RST - YAHOO: 5.0% RST

Anthony Barr is finally healthy it seems, and back to an IDP staple. By the rostered percentages, it seems people may have forgotten about him. Despite coming off of a monster Week 16, it seems managers are hesitant to pick up or even start Barr. Trust me, you're not chasing points with him. No, he won't put up the same stat line as Week 16 but should have a busy day against the Green Bay Packers.

    Troy Reeder, Los Angeles Rams

    ESPN: 6.3% ST - 9.4% RST - YAHOO: 4.0% RST

The Rams are still reeling from the effects of COVID, along with regular injuries. Ernest Jones is on IR and likely to miss the remainder of the regular season. This gives Reeder the reigns again as the go-to middle linebacker. It seems whoever has this role for the Rams produces for fantasy. Don't be shy to fire him up in your championships!

    Other deeper league targets

Jonas Griffith, Denver Broncos - He's the man at the moment

E.J. Speed, Indianapolis Colts - Darius Leonard is out again, so Speed will see tons of opportunity again

    Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Detroit Lions

    Defensive Backs

    Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Cincinnati Bengals

    ESPN: 4.4% ST - 7.6% RST - YAHOO: 1.0% RST

With the Bengals on fire, this week's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs should be a shoot-out. And Chidobe Awuzie should again be in a position to put up, at the very least, a solid tackle floor. He'll be on the field a ton. It will be interesting to see which of the Bengals' corners Patrick Mahomes decides to pick on. But if Awuzie is covering either Tyreek Hill or Travis Kelce, he's a smash IDP play.

    M.J. Stewart, CB, Cleveland Browns

    ESPN: 0.8% ST - 1.4% RST - YAHOO: 1.0% RST

Two cornerbacks as highlighted DB sleepers!?? Yes. Apparently, instead of Grant Delpit & Greedy Williams, I should have been touting M.J. Stewart as the Browns' IDP stud in their secondary. He's also eligible on multiple platforms as a CB and S. So the CB eligibility is huge. Stewart has become the Browns' most reliable coverage player. This week, it's Browns vs Steelers, so I'd anticipate another nice IDP game from Stewart.

    Other deeper league targets

Jordan Whitehead, S, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - On fire, ride the wave

Ashtyn Davis, S, New York Jets - Back from COVID after missing last week

Amani Hooker, S, Tennessee Titans - Hopefully, last week wasn't a fluke and Hooker keeps up the impact plays

Best of luck in your IDP leagues and thanks for checking out my Week 17 IDP sleepers!

    Steve Tomasin (@DynastySanta)

After being introduced to fantasy football in 1999 as a wee lad still in middle school, I was hooked. I then began commishing my own keeper league 2 years later as a sophomore in high school, which has been running since. I used a computer program that required me to manually input weekly stats and had to print out summary packets each week to deliver to league owners at the bowling alley. I loved it. Stats and numbers and the competitiveness of being "right" about players was just an incredible high that not many other activities or hobbies have ever provided me. Around 2005 we migrated to the CBS sports site. I found a new love then, writing about our league. Each year after the draft I would "grade" each owner's team. It became almost as anticipated as the draft itself. Also, most weeks I'd recap the league's games and criticize start/sits while boasting my own accolades as long as I won that week. Dynasty, IDP & Superflex are the next evolutions in my fantasy football journey. I'm a Philly suburbs guy, GO BIRDS. Follow me on Twitter @dynastysanta
