Marshon Lattimore delivered in a great matchup early in Week 13.
The Week 14 edition of The Cornerback Corner is here! @Orangeman3142 dives into all of the secondary matchups for every game to solidify your #IDP #FFIDP lineups!
Welcome to Johny the Greek’s Cornerback Corner Week 14. Last week we streamed corner and did it well. I recommended over 60 different corner streams from 14 different Week 13 matchups. The majority of them worked out extremely well.
We sit at 73% accuracy for the season, 72% last week based on those calls matching or beating their projections (Yahoo), and will continue to track accuracy all season long just like last year. Transparency is something we take seriously here at IDPGuys.
Last week I made 68 recommendations. Of those 68, 9 were declared inactive or injured during play, 43 were correct (met or exceeded projection) and 16 were incorrect (below projection).
We don’t count acts of God here (injuries) and I specifically ask people to check for inactives before each game. So, discounting those, I was 72% correct last week and have a 73% accuracy rating for the season overall.
Of those 43 correct calls last week, 19 were “massive hits” (doubled or tripled projection). That is a 44% massive hit rate.
Weekly Accuracy:
- 75% Week 1 Massive Hit: 25%
- 64% Week 2 Massive Hit: 35%
- 67% Week 3 Massive Hit: 34%
- 77% Week 4 Massive Hit: 37%
- 77% Week 5 Massive Hit: 40%
- 71% Week 6 Massive Hit: 40%
- 73% Week 7 Massive Hit: 41%
- 72% Week 8 Massive Hit: 33%
- 69% Week 9 Massive Hit 33%
- 82% Week 10 Massive Hit 35%
- 79% Week 11 Massive Hit 38%
- 76% Week 12 Massive Hit 35%
- 72% Week 13 Massive Hit 44%
Season accuracy to date: 73%
Season massive hit rate to date: 36%

Enough of the past, let’s look at Week 14!
Perfect Stream: This is one of the best matchups this week. I will be streaming from these matchups in my own leagues almost exclusively.
Poop stream: This is one of the worst matchups this week. I will very likely have zero corners from this matchup streaming anywhere.
Cornerback Corner Week 14
Ravens @ Browns
Outlook: We just saw this game a couple of weeks back and it was mostly poop. The only difference this go-around is we are now without Marlon Humphrey (CB) and it’s outside in Cleveland instead of outside in Baltimore, it’s still winter. Pass on everything except the obvious guys in deeper leagues only.
Baltimore Ravens
Anthony Averett: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Jimmy Smith: Avoid (May be an option going forward, we need to see it first though)
Tavon Young: Avoid
Cleveland Browns
Denzel Ward: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Greg Newsome: Avoid
Troy Hill: Avoid
Greedy Williams: Avoid
Jaguars @ Titans
Outlook: There could be some value here for a couple of the Jags corners, especially if the always mediocre Shaquill Griffin is inactive again this week, as for the reverse though when your team’s best passing weapon is Laquon Treadwell (WR) things are not going well. We should skip the Titans options this week unless truly desperate.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Nevin Lawson: Solid (Deeper leagues unless Griffin inactive)
Tyson Campbell: Solid (Deeper leagues unless Griffin inactive)
Shaquill Griffin: Solid (Deeper leagues only, if healthy)
Tennessee Titans
Kristian Fulton: Avoid
Janoris Jenkins: Avoid
Elijah Molden: Avoid
Raiders @ Chiefs
Outlook: The first iteration of this game earlier this season brought us points aplenty and this one should as well, a great stream for our Raiders options and decent enough for the one or two Chiefs options we have in much deeper leagues.
Las Vegas Raiders
Nate Hobbs: Solid
Brandon Facyson: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Casey Hayward: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Kansas City Chiefs
L’Jarius Sneed (CB/S): Solid
Charvarius Ward: Solid (Deeper leagues)
All others: Avoid
Saints @ Jets
Outlook: Just like the meme says. Not great, mediocre. Obvious guys only, deeper leagues only. Two shitty pass offenses outdoors in December, not ideal at all.
New Orleans Saints
Marshon Lattimore: Solid (Deeper leagues)
P.J. Williams: Avoid
Paulson Adebo: Avoid
New York Jets
Bryce Hall: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Javelin Guidry: Avoid
Michael Carter: Avoid
Cowboys @ Football Team
Outlook: We can start our Washington options against the usually solid Cowboys passing attack and as for the reverse we never sit Trevon Diggs (CB) but I could see value for Lewis and Brown in deeper leagues as well since this could end up being a shootout rather than a defensive struggle.
Vegas seems to think so anyways with an initial over/under of 47.5 for an outdoor matchup in December that’s a decent amount of points. The usual suspects, a couple will be good across all formats and the rest in deeper leagues only.
Dallas Cowboys
Trevon Diggs: Solid
Anthony Brown: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Jourdan Lewis: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Washington Football Team
Kendall Fuller: Solid
William Jackson: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Bobby McCain: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Falcons @ Panthers
Outlook: We’ve already seen this one earlier this season and there was a decent amount of offense involved, these two division opponents are familiar with each other and neither defense is all that great. We can fire up the normal options but no one really sticks out as a perfect stream here.
Atlanta Falcons
AJ Terrell: Solid
Fabian Moreau: Solid (Deeper leagues)
No significant third corner option
Carolina Panthers
Donte Jackson: Avoid (IR)
Stephon Gilmore: Solid (Risky though, I’m just guessing he gets the lion’s share of snaps now based on what I’ve seen all season)
C.J. Henderson: Avoid
A.J. Bouye: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Seahawks @ Texans
Outlook: The Texans’ options should be good against a Seahawks offense that played much better last week and with the Texans losing the time of possession battle handily most weeks we’ll roll with “the best ability is availability” as a rule this week.
As for the reverse, odds are good we’re getting Davis Mills (QB) at QB this week so I’d avoid my Seattle options beyond DJ Reed (CB) in deeper leagues and Quandre Diggs (CB/S) in places where he’s designated a corner, leave the rest.
Seattle Seahawks
D.J. Reed: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Quandre Diggs: Solid
Sidney Jones: Avoid
Ryan Neal (S/CB): Solid (If designated CB in your league of merit)
Houston Texans
Desmond King: Solid
Terrance Mitchell: Solid
Tavierre Thomas: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Lions @ Broncos
Outlook: Neither passing attack is good at all but then again neither defense is special either, we may need to be more dependent on splash plays for production here but there could be some fireworks and mistakes to be taken advantage of. We’ll go with the normal options but deeper leagues only.
Detroit Lions
Amani Oruwariye: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Jerry Jacobs: Avoid
All others: Avoid
Denver Broncos
Ronald Darby: Avoid
Patrick Surtain: Solid (Deeper leagues, risky, splash play dependent)
Kyle Fuller: Solid (Deeper leagues, risky play)
Giants @ Chargers
Outlook: This is a terrific matchup for our Giants’ options against this really solid Chargers passing attack, the icing on the cake would be if Keenan Allen (WR) cleared Covid protocol in time for kickoff and we got Adoree Jackson (CB) back as well.
Beyond that, it’s still a go for our normal Giants options and we can skip the Chargers’ already mediocre options against this absolutely awful Giants pass game.
New York Giants
James Bradberry: Solid
Adoree Jackson: Solid (If healthy)
Aaron Robinson: Solid (Only if Adoree Jackson is inactive, otherwise avoid/sit)
Logan Ryan (CB/S): Solid
All others: Avoid
Los Angeles Chargers
Chris Harris: Avoid (Covid IR)
Asante Samuel Jr: Avoid
Michael Davis: Avoid
Tevaughn Campbell: Avoid
Niners @ Bengals
Outlook: This one somewhat depends on if we can get Deebo Samuel (WR) back in time for kickoff but regardless it’s a nice matchup for the Niners options and even if we do get Deebo back still just lukewarm for our Bengals options, one half of a good matchup overall.
San Francisco 49ers
Josh Norman: Solid
K’Waun Williams: Solid (If Emmanuel Moseley is inactive, otherwise avoid/sit)
Emmanuel Moseley: Solid (If healthy)
All others: Avoid
Cincinnati Bengals
Chidobe Awuzie: Solid (Deeper leagues, if healthy)
Mike Hilton: Solid (Deeper leagues only, gets a bump if Awuzie can’t play)
Eli Apple: Avoid
Vernon Hargreaves: Avoid
Bills @ Bucs
Outlook: This is the stream from the outer worlds, it is blessed by the maker. This stream will lead to a holy war against the Harkonens and the emperor. Perfect stream, fire up everyone.
Buffalo Bills
Taron Johnson: Solid
Levi Wallace: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Dane Jackson: Solid
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Carlton Davis: Solid
Sean Murphy Bunting: Solid
Jamel Dean: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Bears @ Packers
Outlook: This is a really nice stream for our couple acceptable Bears options but as for the reverse I’m probably all set with any Packers options this week against the pretty terrible Bears passing attack. One half of a good matchup once more.
Chicago Bears
Jaylon Johnson: Solid
Artie Burns: Solid (Risky though, fluctuation in second CB role recently)
All others: Avoid
Green Bay Packers
Rasul Douglas: Avoid
Chandon Sullivan: Avoid
Eric Stokes: Avoid
Rams @ Cardinals
Outlook: This stream has had visions of the struggle that is to come. Will we take a maker hook of our Siche and ride like a leader of men? Shai’Halud demands our respect. We shall give it. Perfect stream. Fire up everyone with a pulse here.
Los Angeles Rams
Darious Williams: Solid
Jalen Ramsey: Solid
Donte Deayton: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Arizona Cardinals
Marco Wilson: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Byron Murphy: Solid
Robert Alford: Solid (Deeper leagues)
Closing thoughts
Remember to check inactives before kickoff to avoid any surprise zeroes! The information here is usually only accurate up until Thursday evening each week, then it gets published and I won’t be editing and updating with any injury news that occurs after that point, it’s your responsibility to track injuries for your own team.
