The October 30th trade deadline is approaching. Here we will be looking at the latest rumors swirling around the NFL from an IDP standpoint as well as trades that should happen.

Fire Sale

New York Giants

The Giants have already shipped out a couple of key players on their Defense in Eli Apple (Saints) and Damon Harrison (Lions). Now it appears that they are entering a full rebuild with a decent head start. They received a 4th rounder this year and 7th rounder in 2020 for Apple and a 5th rounder for Harrison. Based off rumors it does not seem like they are finished either. Lets see who else may be on the move.

Janoris Jenkins

Every team in the NFL now knows that the Giants are amidst a fire sale. Jenkins is the best corner on the team but will come with a  price. He will be owed $7 million for the rest of this year as well as a $14.5 million cap hit for next year.

The word on the street is that the Eagles are interested and it makes sense considering they still have a win now window. Rebuilding teams will stay away considering his price tag and age (30) this season.

Best Fit: Philadelphia Eagles

Prediction: Stays put in New York (Too expensive)

Alec Ogletree

Ogletree could be traded but it isn't necessary for the Giants. He is 27 years old and has a friendly contract that does not exceed $10.5 million annually that's good through 2021. He has always been productive but the past 2 years have seemed a little off for Ogletree. Based off his age and contract he could stay and not be an issue with rebuild or can be sold for a good price.

Ogletree would fit nicely with some Linebacker needy teams. A trade to somebody like Kansas City to slide in next to Anthony Hitchens or another win now team in Green Bay would be great fits for Ogletree. Green Bay needs some help on the defensive side of the ball and putting Ogletree next to Blake Martinez would make for a great Linebacker tandem.

Best Fit: Kansas City Chiefs

Prediction: Stays put in New York for the rebuild

Landon Collins

Collins was not at all impressed with the moves made by the Giants. Collins is an impact player that any team even without a glaring need at safety should look into. The Kansas City Chiefs are probably looking for help at the Safety spot considering the on-going saga that is the Eric Berry injury situation. They had interest in trading for Earl Thomas, poor Earl Thomas, but the deal never went through.

NFL insider Matt Miller stated "I've heard the Chiefs are going to try to be aggressive. I think Andy Reid and Brett Veach are going to try be aggressive to make moves and sure up that defense. If there is any move out there that can improve their defense they are going to try to get it done."

Best Fit: Kansas City Chiefs

Prediction: Stays in New York with, receives extension offer and signs long term.

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders have already sold Amari Cooper recently and Khalil Mack earlier in the season. From the looks of how things are going, Gruden wants to create his own team, geriatric it may be, but his own. Here is a list of recent draft picks rumored to be traded as well this year.

Gareon Conley

Conley was a 1st round pick in 2017 although has not played too much. He was recently benched for Daryl Worley in recent weeks. Conley hasn't been horrible starting every week leading up to Week 6 coming up with an interception and 6 pass deflections to go along with 10 tackles.

There are few teams who have shown interest in Conley. Among those teams include the Patriots, the Eagles, and the Steelers. The Eagles could use Conley to replace Jalen Mills who has given up the most yards of any DB this year. The Patriots could use Conley opposite Gilmore instead of using Rowe or Jason McCourty. The Steelers have the largest need though considering how poorly Artie Burns has been.

Best Fit: Pittsburgh Steelers

Prediction: Trade to New England, Gruden gets rid of another former 1st rounder. New England always makes a trade at the deadline.

Karl Joseph

Joseph has cast aside by the new brass in Oakland. He has been available for three games this season and has yet to make any impact. It's not like Joseph was not productive in his two full years with the Raiders. During his tenure with Oakland he has recorded 139 tackles (102 solo), 3 tackles for a loss, 10 pass deflections, 1 sack, 2 interceptions and 1 forced fumble.

The Green Bay Packers really could use some Safety help outside of Ha Ha Clinton Dix. Between injuries with Kentrell Bryce and just lack of production at the position, Karl Joseph would be a nice bump in the back half of the secondary. He would powerful tackling that strikes fear into receivers and runners. Bryce has ranked out as the 79th best Safety in the NFL and is a poor tackler.

Best Fit: Green Bay Packers

Prediction: Trade to Green Bay to play alongside Clinton Dix. Gruden gets rid of another 1st rounder.

Other Trade Rumors

Chris Harris Jr.

Harris Jr. is one of the best slot cover corners in the NFL. Denver looks to be in full rebuild now and could see some pieces go. Along with his production he has a team friendly contract and the Broncos may be able to get a nice return for him.

Best Fit: Philadelphia Eagles

Prediction: Trade to the Eagles, they get a great slot corner and if they don't have faith in Jalen Mills, they can slide Sidney Jones outside.

Patrick Peterson

Don't get excited here. Somehow.....in some way..... the Cardinals have convinced Peterson that they are not going to rebuild but instead try to contend.

Best Fit: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Prediction: Staying put, unfortunately for all the other Corner Back needy teams, Arizona convinced him to stay.

Trades Everybody Wants

Dante Fowler to the 49ers- The 49ers are in desperate need for pass rushing help on the edges. It would be in their best interest to move Arik Armstead back to the interior at DT where he is best. The Jaguars chose not to pick up Fowler's fifth year option. Fowler would slide in and easily be their best pass rusher.

Shane Ray to the Colts- Shane Ray also had his team decline his fifth year option. Ray is two years removed from an 8 sack season but the Broncos drafted Bradley Chubb and Ray has take a back seat. The Colts did a good job in the offseason grabbing Jabal Sheard in free agency and drafting Darius Leonard. Add Ray and the pass rush  could become a strength.

Brent Grimes to the Steelers- The Steelers have a good lock down corner in Joe Haden even if he is a slight shade of his former self. Throw somebody like Grimes on the opposite side who has 20 interceptions since 2013 and it will make teams think twice about throwing on Pittsburgh so much.

Deone Bucannon to the Packers- The Packers have one of the best Linebackers in the league with Blake Martinez. Outside of him there is not too much depth on the roster for the Middle Linebacker position. Adding a ranging hybrid Linebacker/Safety would benefit Green Bay greatly.

There are only a couple of days left before the trade deadline. Rumors will continue to fly around and there will be some transactions that will probably blow our minds. Until then stay tuned.
