If you are looking to find a defensive lineman that you can stream for Week 8, look no further. Here is Joey The Tooth's Week 8 defensive lineman streaming article.

Week 8 in the NFL has six different teams on a BYE week. That combined with the amount of injuries we have seen this season has left many fantasy football managers thin at numerous positions. The defensive line position is particularly difficult to stream and I have put in some extra research into opposing offensive lines to help find weekly streaming options. Lets take a look at the week 8 IDP defensive line streaming options.

Edge

Vic Beasley - Tennessee Titans

2020 Stats: 3 tackles (2 solo), 1 tackle for a loss and a forced fumble.

Week 8 Match-up: Cincinnati Bengals

Run Blocking Rank: 31st averaging 3.72 yards per carry with a stuff rate of 21%

Pass Protection Rank: 30th giving up 28 sacks with a sack rate of 8.9%

Vic Beasley was seen as a nice addition for the Titans with hopes that he would provide an excellent pass rushing tandem with Harold Landry coming off of the edge. Instead he has faced multiple injuries that have limited him to start the season. So much so that the Titans signed Jadeveon Clowney to start across from Landry. Beasley finally looked healthy last week and played 38% of the team's defensive snaps. He played well too and was able to force a fumble and come up with two tackles, one going for a loss.

He faces the Bengals in week 8 who have given up 28 sacks in seven games, the most in the NFL. The Bengals offensive line has played better as of late, but that just means that they are not completely horrendous. Even if Beasley plays on 38% of the team's snaps there is still a very good chance he can come up with some great QB pressure and is a solid week 8 IDP streamer.

Defensive End

Tanoh Kpassagnon - Kansas City Chiefs

2020 Stats: 11 tackles (8 solo), 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack, 3 passes defended and 4 QB hits.

Week 8 Match-up: New York Jets

Run Blocking Rank: 19th averaging 4.18 yards per carry with a stuff rate of 19%

Pass Protection Rank: 32nd giving up 24 sacks with a sack rate of 9.2%

Tanoh Kpassagnon is on here not because of his production but more or less for sheer field time. Kpassagnon sees more time on the field than any other defensive lineman this season at 82.5% of the team's snaps. Last week he also came away with his first sack of the season and has three QB hits in his last two games. He seems to be catching fire for the Chiefs right now with Frank Clark garnering more attention. plus the Chiefs have been deploying Willie Gay Jr. more lately which adds extra pressure from the second level of the defense.

He gets the Jets in week 8 who have given up the worst sack rate in the NFL at 9.2%. The Jets are going to be down in this game and will have to drop back and pass more than they would like to. This should leave ample opportunity for Kpassagnon to come up with some production and be a solid week 8 IDP streamer.

William Gholston - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2020 Stats: 18 tackles (10 solo), 4 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks and 11 QB hits.

Week 8 Match-up: New York Giants

Run Blocking Rank: 32nd averaging 3.29 yards per carry with a stuff rate of 23%

Pass Protection Rank: 19th giving up 20 sacks with a sack rate of 6.8%

William Gholston is enjoying a solid 2020 season with this much improved defense. He is in his 8th NFL season, and after seven games already has set a career high in QB hits with 11. His previous career high was 8 QB hits which came in 2015 and was over 16 games. The Buccaneers have a much better pass rush duo this year in Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaquil Barrett.  This helps alleviate some of the attention inside.

Gholston faces off against the Giants who have not done much to help give Daniel Jones a clean pocket as he has been sacked 20 times this season. Pierre-Paul is squaring off against his former team and Barrett has been getting very good pressure himself this year. Gholston should have a great shot at IDP production and is a good week 8 IDP streamer.

Defensive Tackle

Neville Gallimore - Dallas Cowboys

2020 Stats: 7 tackles (3 solo), 1 tackle for a loss and a QB hit.

Week 8 Match-up: Philadelphia Eagles

Run Blocking Rank: 22nd averaging 4.03 yards per carry with a stuff rate of 15%

Pass Protection Rank: 26th giving up 28 sacks with a sack rate of 8.3%

Neville Gallimore has started seeing the field more, playing on 32% or more of the team's snaps the past three weeks. In week 7 he made his first start of the season and was on the field for 55% of the team's snaps. This was the most of any defensive tackle on the team and made four tackles with one going for a loss. He was known more for his interior pass rush ability as a prospect out of college. His match-up for week 8 is very tasty. Gallimore is going up against the Eagles who are tied with the Bengals for giving up the most sacks in the NFL with 28. Gallimore should be able to get a great push in the interior and has a good shot to be a nice week 8 IDP streamer.

Jerry Tillery - Los Angeles Chargers

2020 Stats: 10 tackles (7 solo), 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 6 QB hits.

Week 8 Match-up: Denver Broncos

Run Blocking Rank: 24th averaging 4.02 yards per carry with a stuff rate of 21%

Pass Protection Rank: 25th giving up 18 sacks with a sack rate of 8.2%

Jerry Tillery is a vicious interior pass rusher with a magnificent motor. He flashes some DeForest Buckner-esque traits though he has not been able to put it all together yet. This season he has been flashing some of those traits and has doubled his rookie total for QB hits already, in only six games. He has seen more game action this season and is averaging 66.83% of the team's defensive snaps. Tillery is facing the Broncos in week 8 who just gave up 3 sacks to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs rank in the lower half of the league in sacks per game. Tillery has a good chance to make an interior push against this weaker offensive line making him a strong week 8 IDP streamer.

Sleeper

Dorance Armstrong - Dallas Cowboys

2020 Stats: 11 tackles (8 solo) and a QB hit.

Week 8 Match-up: Philadelphia Eagles

Run Blocking Rank: 22nd averaging 4.03 yards per carry with a stuff rate of rate 15%

Pass Protection Rank: 26th giving up 28 sacks with a  sack rate of 8.3%

Dorance Armstrong is a situational pass rusher who just has not seemed to get much run with the defense. This year the additions of both Aldon Smith and Everson Griffen have limited Armstrong's opportunity. The Cowboys, however, have been running a pass rushing rotation this year. Aldon Smith has been in on 74.1% of the team's snaps, Demarcus Lawrence has seen 54.8%, Everson Griffen has seen 56.4% and Armstrong has seen 28.3%. This has been the weekly trend for the Cowboys. Armstrong saw his most work week 7 with 38% of the team's snaps and accumulated three tackles with a QB hit.

Now Everson Griffen is gone and Armstrong is likely to see an expanded role. There is a great opportunity that he sees the 50-60% snap share Griffen saw. He also has a terrific match-up for week 8 against the Eagles. They have tied the Bengals with 28 sacks allowed this season and Armstrong has a decent shot at getting to Carson Wentz.

Summary

This week we avoided guys with a good tackle floor and went straight to guys with high sack upside. The Cowboys defensive line has a great shot at chalking up some sacks this weekend against the Eagles. We also took a look at some young interior pass rushers who have the opportunity to add to their sack total. From the edge I am looking for Vic Beasley to build off of his best performance of the season against the Bengals who have routinely let Joe Burrow get taken down. At defensive end I drop some 3-4 defensive ends who have solid volume and snap share with good match-ups.
