NFL Week 17 Injury Report for Offensive Players

James Conner, RB - Questionable

Conner missed Week 16 with a heel injury and is questionable for Week 17.

Calvin Ridley, WR - Reserve/NFI List

Ridley was placed on the Reserve/NFI (Non-Football Injury) list prior to Week 9 while dealing with mental health issues. There has been very little information the past few weeks and I doubt we see Ridley the rest of the year.

Lamar Jackson, QB - Questionable

Jackson suffered an ankle sprain in Week 14 and has missed the last two weeks. Monitor his practice status this week to determine his availability.

Cole Beasley, WR - Out (COVID)

Beasley was placed on the reserve/COVID list and missed Week 16. He could miss Week 17 as well since he is famously unvaccinated.

No new injuries reported in Week 16.

Justin Fields, QB - Questionable

Fields missed Week 16 with an ankle injury and remains questionable for Week 17. If he misses again, Nick Foles is likely the starter once again since Andy Dalton is still nursing a hand injury.

Allen Robinson, WR

Robinson was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and should be active for Week 17. Robinson said in an interview that he lost ten pounds and was still trying to feel normal. This combined with a murky quarterback situation and Robinson's poor season thus far makes him unlikely to be started in almost any format.

No new injuries were reported.

Kareem Hunt, RB - Questionable

Hunt suffered an ankle injury that, in addition to landing on the COVID list, kept him out of Week 15 and 16. He has since been activated from the COVID list but remains questionable due to his ankle injury.

No new injuries were reported.

Teddy Bridgewater, QB - Questionable

Bridgewater suffered a concussion in Weeks 15 and 16 and could miss a third game if he is unable to clear protocol in time.

D'Andre Swift, RB - Questionable

Swift suffered a shoulder sprain and has missed the past four weeks. His status for Week 17 is up in the air, and there is concern that the team could shut him down for the year.

Jared Goff, QB

Goff was activated from the reserve/COVID list after missing Week 16 and is in line to start Week 17.

No new injuries were reported in Week 17.

Brandin Cooks, WR - COVID

Cooks missed Week 16 on the COVID list and has yet to be activated as of Tuesday. Watch his status if you intend to start him in Week 17.

Carson Wentz, QB - Doubtful (COVID-19)

Wentz was placed on the reserve/COVID list and is unvaccinated. He could be cleared in time for Week 17 but only if his placement on the COVID list was due to close contact. If he is the one who tested positive he will miss a minimum of 10 days and could miss more than just this week.

James Robinson, RB - IR (season-ending)

Robinson suffered a torn Achilles tendon and is done for the season. This late in the season, an injury of this magnitude puts the beginning of the 2022 season in doubt as well.

Carlos Hyde, RB - IR (season-ending)

Hyde was placed on IR for the rest of the season due to a concussion suffered in Week 14.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB - Doubtful

Edwards-Helaire exited Week 16 with a shoulder injury. While he did not have any structural damage in his collarbone per reports, he is expected to miss a week or two. Darrel Williams has filled in nicely for Edwards-Helaire this year and is a decent option for championship week if you need him.

Travis Kelce, TE - Questionable (COVID)

Kelce was unable to clear COVID protocol in time for Week 16 but should be back for Week 17. Keep an eye on his status to make sure that he gets activated in time.

Darren Waller, TE - Doubtful

Waller missed Weeks 13-16 with a previously reported injury and should be considered doubtful for Week 17 unless we see some positive practice reports.

Austin Ekeler, RB

Ekeler was activated from the reserve/COVID list and should be in line for his normal role for Week 17.

Mike Williams, WR - Questionable (COVID)

Williams was placed on the COVID list on Christmas day and as of this writing has not been activated. Watch his status closely to see if he clears protocol in time for Week 17.

Darrell Henderson, RB - IR (season-ending)

Henderson suffered a sprained MCL ending his 2021 fantasy season.

Cam Akers, RB - Questionable

Akers was activated from the IR and has a chance of playing in Week 17 after suffering an Achilles tear last summer. He isn't likely to be fantasy-relevant but it is a great story for the young running back to make a return so soon from such a devastating injury.

Adding to the good feelings, the Rams apparently activated him to the active roster last week knowing that they wouldn't have him active for game day so that he qualified for his pension credit. It may not have a fantasy impact but I enjoy knowing that teams still do the right thing occasionally.

No new injuries were reported.

<a rel=

Adam Thielen, WR - Questionable

Thielen suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 13 but returned to the lineup last week. Unfortunately, he aggravated the injury early in the game and did not return to the field until late. I would look for another option in Week 17 if you can.

Dalvin Cook, RB - Questionable

Cook missed last week on the COVID list and since he is unvaccinated could miss Week 17 as well. Monitor his status closely this week.

Damien Harris, RB - Questionable

Harris returned from a hamstring injury to handle 18 carries in Week 16. He may have some limited practices this week but expect him to be active again for Week 17.

Taysom Hill, QB - Questionable (COVID)

Hill and backup quarterback Trevor Siemian were absent in Week 16 due to COVID, Ian Book was given the start. Managers of any Saints' players will hope for anyone but Book in Week 17. Keep an eye on reports to see if either of the Saints' other quarterbacks is activated from the COVID list in time.

No new injuries were reported in Week 16.

Jamison Crowder, WR - Doubtful

Crowder missed Week 16 with a calf injury and is doubtful for Week 17.

Miles Sanders, RB - Out

Sanders suffered a fracture in his hand and has been ruled out of Week 17.

Jordan Howard, RB - Questionable

Howard suffered a stinger in Week 16 and the team is hopeful he will be able to play in Week 17. With Sanders already out, Howard presumably is in line for the lions' share of the work.

Pat Freiermuth, TE - Questionable

Freiermuth suffered a concussion in Week 15 that caused him to miss Week 16. He has yet to clear concussion protocol but has time to get cleared for Week 17.

No new injuries were reported.

Elijah Mitchell, RB - Questionable

Mitchell missed Week 16 with a knee injury and remains questionable for Week 17. Jeff Wilson will presumably continue to benefit if Mitchell misses more time.

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB - Doubtful

Garoppolo is actually likely done for the season with a torn UCL and fractured bone in the thumb on his throwing hand. As usual, the 49ers are coy with details describing the injury as a thumb sprain prior to the previously mentioned diagnosis was released. He has not been ruled out as of this writing but I would be surprised if he was able to play the remainder of the year.

Mike Evans, WR - Doubtful

Evans suffered a hamstring strain that caused him to miss Week 16 and has now been added to the reserve/COVID list. Even without the COVID listing, Evans' hamstring injury might have been enough to keep him sidelined. Meanwhile, teammate Breshad Perriman was activated from the COVID list and may get some increased opportunity with Antonio Brown the only other notable wide receiver healthy.

Julio Jones, WR - Doubtful

Jones was placed on the reserve/COVID list and is likely to miss Week 17.

Antonio Gibson, RB - Questionable

Gibson got rested in Week 16 due to the Football Team getting blown out, but as of this writing, there has not been news to suggest a setback related to either the toe or shin injury that Gibson has been dealing with. Monitor his practice status closely this week before putting him in your lineups, however.

Aaron Maberry

I am a veterinarian who has been playing fantasy football off and on since high school. About 12 years ago, I got more competitive and serious about fantasy football when I started a league with some other friends who were in vet school with me at the time. I started playing IDP about 3 years ago and have become even more obsessed with fantasy football. I have what I would call an evidence-based approach to fantasy football and love to track data in spreadsheets. I began writing for IDP Guys in the summer of 2021 and look forward to contributing to the amazing team moving forward. Thanks for reading!
