This article will go through Running Back Rankings for Dynasty Fantasy Football and dive deep into tiers.

In dynasty fantasy football, gaining an edge requires a strategic grasp of running back tiers. Explore the critical balance between seasoned veterans, emerging talents, and breakout prospects that define dynasty rosters.

This comprehensive guide delves into the intricacies of running back dynamics, empowering managers to make informed decisions and optimize their teams for long-term success in the quest for fantasy football championships.

Do you want to talk about injuries? Running back is the most important position in fantasy football in my humble opinion, you need a handful of them to be competitive, and they're the most vulnerable to injury.

RB is easily the most frustrating dynasty position if you don’t secure it with some playmakers. Not only injuries, there are timeshares and scheme fits you have to contend with. It’s all a part of the process of picking the right running back. We have to gauge the amount of potential volume, does your back get his team's goal line carries? You have to consider it all.

In this piece, we’re breaking down the top fantasy running backs into three tiers.

    Tier 1 RBs

    1. Christian McCaffrey
    2. Bijan Robinson
    3. Jahmyr Gibbs
    4. Travis Etienne
    5. Breece Hall
    6. Saquon Barkley
    7. Jonathan Taylor

Tier one boasts elite running backs, showcasing players integral to their respective offenses, adept at early-down touches, involvement in the passing game, and securing crucial goal-line work.

Christian McCaffrey, a franchise RB, stands out as a fantasy powerhouse capable of carrying your team to victory. He thrives in one of the league's most creative and explosive offenses, ensuring a consistent flow of opportunities.

Bijan Robinson is the future of the position; a major reason he’s ranked this high is because of what we think he could become. Notably, he’s got home run speed, is a nightmare for defenses in space, and possesses incredible hands. Similarly, the same could be said about Jahmyr Gibbs. Despite facing stiffer competition in the backfield, on the other hand, Robinson has a new head coach, suggesting there could be an adjustment period.

    Tier 2 RBs

    1. Kyren Williams
    2. James Cook
    3. De'Von Achane
    4. D'Andre Swift
    5. Josh Jacobs
    6. Derrick Henry
    7. Joe Mixon
    8. David Montgomery

In tier two, formidable running backs remain accessible for those selecting beyond the top eight. This tier offers reassurance for late first-round picks, presenting an opportunity to secure impactful players consecutively based on your draft format.

Kyren Williams might have been the best waiver wire pickup of the season; he burst onto the scene and took the league by storm for twelve weeks until his injury. Still, he finished the season third in rushing yards.

Meanwhile, James Cook is another young back who was given his shot to be the feature back this season and he delivered in a big way. Cook provides another element to the Bills' offense that was missing in previous years and emerged as a key asset to the Bills' offense, providing a complementary dimension to quarterback Josh Allen.

Josh Jacobs has as much talent as any back on the list. He battled through some nagging injuries and overall had a down year. When the Raiders figure out their QB situation, Jacobs will benefit from seeing fewer stacked boxes from defenses. First-year full-time head coach Antonio Pierce feels like a potential homerun hire who can get the best out of his stars on this squad.

From a production standpoint, Derrick Henry stacks up with the elite running backs on this list. Will he ring chase or bag chase? If he lands on a team like the Baltimore Ravens his value takes a huge dip, in my opinion. He could find himself in a running back committee there. However, if he lands somewhere like the Chicago Bears, I’d expect him to be the featured back and remain one of the most consistent rushers in the game.

    Tier 3 RBs

    1. Najee Harris
    2. Rachaad White
    3. Kenneth Walker
    4. Jerome Ford
    5. Isiah Pacheco
    6. Devin Singletary
    7. Aaron Jones
    8. Tony Pollard
    9. Javonte Williams

Tier three is your complimentary pieces, you may see most of these guys in the flex spot, some are rotation pieces and others could be depended on to slot in that running back two spots.

Najee Harris scored a career-high eight touchdowns this season and rushed for more yards than last on fewer carries. Harris heads into his fourth year and the Steelers are committed to the run game, especially with the recent addition of Arthur Smith as new offensive coordinator.

I feel like Rachaad White has a breakout season brewing, the volume is there he doesn’t have any serious competition in that Tampa Bay backfield. In his first full year as the starter he finished top 15 in rushing yards and he scored nine total touchdowns.

Tony Pollard is a fresh 26-year-old who just put together consecutive thousand-yard seasons behind one of the best offensive lines in the league. Plus, he is THE guy for Dallas.

Kenneth Walker could lose touches next season but he’s also put together two solid first seasons.

Jerome Ford looks like he’ll be a big piece of the Browns offense even when Nick Chubb comes back.

Devin Singletary is a late-round bargain that people will overlook in redraft.
